Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine is a Philadelphia native is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised there. Pam is her mom. She was an old backup singer at Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five Her father was named to be the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. She and her family moved later to the historic mansion. In 2005, she graduated from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in the class of a vocal music major. Sullivan sang as a contralto member of the youth choir, and after a couple of years later, she was a singer in the adults choir. Sullivan was not exposed secular music until he was a teenager. "I started singing solos in church, and somebody was urging me to sign up to record a gospel song at the age of 11. But I wasn't ready for that," she says. "Then the time came that McDonald's offered a competition to kids in major cities, I got a chance to sing 'Accept Whatever God Does' on Showtime in the Apollo and the audience loved it". At the age 13 she sang along with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday celebration. Sullivan was the first to sign her contract to Jive Records when she was fifteen. In Jive Records, she made the entire album but the album wasn't released. Sullivan was eventually dropped out of the company. She had a good working partnership to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced some of her tracks and tracks, such as "Backstabbers", which was produced by Timbaland.
